Who writes our content
Pages on Legit50 are written and maintained by the Legit50 Editorial Team. We use a team byline. We do not invent author names or credentials.
Document tools and how-to guides
Our invoice, estimate and receipt generators, their templates and the guides that explain them cover how to fill in common business documents. They do not give legal or tax advice. Each page shows when it was last updated.
Pages about fees, taxes and business formation
Pages about topics such as forming an LLC, state filing fees or taxes can affect real decisions, so we hold them to a stricter standard:
- Fees and requirements come from official government sources (.gov sites), and each page links to its sources.
- A licensed professional reviews the page before it is published. The reviewer is named on the page.
- The data is re-checked on a schedule. See our methodology.
We have not published pages on these topics yet. They will go live only after they meet this standard.
Our standards
- We write in plain English and avoid hype.
- We never promise that a filing will be approved or that a result is guaranteed.
- We never present Legit50 as a government website.
- Our tools are for creating genuine business records. We do not build or promote tools for making fake documents.
- Advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in our content. See our disclosures.
Updates and corrections
We update pages when rules, fees or our tools change, and we show the “Last updated” date on each page. If you find an error, use the contact form. Read our corrections policy.
